About Generation Empower
The University of Dar Es Salaam Innovative and Enterpreneurship Center (UDIEC) and Empower have engaged in a 5 year partnership to conduct and execute the Generation Empower Program designed with a special mission to fulfill the growing need in Tanzania for skilled manpower across sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skills. Mission is to bring necessary synergy between Academic Institutions and the Corporate world, through effective co-ordination and implementation of a skill development programme across the country. According to the worldbank there is over 800,000 individuals entering the labor force in Tanzania each year, an urgent need to make educational reforms aimed at ensuring prospective workers to have the necessary skills. The skills development programme is geared to carry out the targeted skilling objectives as an end-to-end process that will involve university - Industry – government.
