Electrical Maintenance (Operator II)
Summary
Electrical Maintenance is responsible for implementing the maintenance policy defined by the Technical Director and ensuring compliance, availability and optimal operation of Electrical devices and systems
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and inspections on electrical systems within terminal buildings.
- Identify required tools and PPE for inspections and maintenance, ensuring full availability before and during maintenance activities.
- Ensure tools and PPE required for immediate intervention, maintenance, and repairs are available and properly used during inspections.
- Execute inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in compliance with approved procedures and technical standards.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports for all maintenance inspections, daily log activities, and work tasks.
- Ensure all maintenance reports are handed over to the Assistant Engineer within the required timelines as per maintenance schedules.
- Raise requests for materials and spare parts required for repair works, ensuring approval from the Assistant Engineer prior to use.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety requirements during inspection and maintenance activities.
- Maintain consistency and timely execution of all assigned maintenance activities.
- Immediately escalate major technical issues, especially non-compliance cases affecting AGL and airside electrical systems, to the Engineer and Head of Department (HOD).
- Propose improvements and modifications to task lists and inspection forms to enhance efficiency and relevance.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding progress and status of maintenance activities.
- Adhere to safe work practices at all times during maintenance operations.
Education and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Vocational education and training certificate in Electrical or Electronic Studies
- At least 5 years of proven experience in maintenance of electrical and electronic systems, ideally in an airport environment
- Proficiency in Swahili
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional training in electrical systems or infrastructure maintenance is an added advantage
- Certification or training in electrical installation or maintenance from recognized institutions is an added advantage
- Experience in airport environment or electrical systems is an added advantage
- Proficiency in English is an added advantage
