Summary

The Radio Frequency Engineer will be responsible for optimizing 4G and 5G network performance through KPI analysis, network strategy design, feature deployment, parameter tuning, and customer experience improvement. The role requires strong technical expertise in radio access network (RAN) technologies and the ability to engage independently with customer stakeholders on network performance and optimization strategies.

Responsibilities

• Perform 4G and 5G network KPI analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to improve network performance and service quality.
• Develop and implement Radio Frequency Engineer optimization strategies, including feature deployment, parameter tuning, and network configuration adjustments.
• Analyze Measurement Reports (MR) and optimize related network performance metrics to improve coverage, capacity, and user experience.
• Conduct network performance assessments and identify opportunities for improving coverage, accessibility, retainability, mobility, and capacity KPIs.
• Utilize QGIS and other relevant tools for geographical network analysis, coverage assessment, and optimization planning.
• Work with radio access network equipment, features, parameters, and optimization tools to implement effective network performance improvements.
• Conduct technical discussions with mid- to senior-level customer stakeholders on network policies, KPI optimization, and network performance metrics.
• Prepare technical reports, optimization recommendations, and performance improvement plans for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with network planning, implementation, and operations teams to resolve network performance issues and achieve optimization targets.
• Support the deployment, evaluation, and verification of new network features and optimization solutions.

 

Education and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information and Communication Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications in telecommunications, RF engineering, or mobile network optimization are an added advantage.

 

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Radio Frequency Engineer engineering, with a strong focus on 4G and 5G network optimization.
• Proven experience in Radio Frequency Engineer KPI optimization, parameter tuning, feature deployment, and network performance improvement.
• Hands-on experience with radio access network equipment, features, parameters, and optimization tools.
• Practical experience in QGIS for geographical analysis and network optimization.
• Experience analyzing Measurement Reports (MR) and optimizing associated network performance metrics.
• Experience engaging with mid- to senior-level customer stakeholders on technical issues and network optimization strategies.
• Experience with Airtel Groundhog tools and metrics is an added advantage.
• Previous team leadership or technical team coordination experience is an added advantage.
