Summary

The incumbent will oversee the operation of the entire construction company, answering to the board of directors, provide a strategic and structured operational management plan which ensures smooth day-to-day operations of the business. Over time, the individual will be the company's public face, meeting with high-profile clients and bringing in new business.

Responsibilities

  • Hands on supervising of all daily operations of the company
  • Delivering quality work that satisfies customers
  • Build a profitable construction business by accurately bidding on projects
  • Managing costs and expenses together with the CFO
  • Working closely with the board of directors on all matters related to the business
  • Preparing and presenting reports/budgets to the board of directors
  • Developing and implementing strategies, procedures, and business plans needed to enhance company growth
  • Taking full responsibility for delivery of the construction phase
  • Maintain high safety standards
  • Setting performance goals and KPIs
  • Engage and motivate the team to achieve process and programme improvements
  • Drive quality and process improvement
  • Ensure that insurers, funders, clients and building inspectors are fully satisfied.
  • Identify future resource requirements

Education and Qualifications

  • University degree (MBA)
  • Minimum 10 years’ executive-level experience in managing organizations with operation, planning and construction responsibilities

  • The ability to be proactive and take own initiative
  • Knowledge and experience in the construction & housing industry
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles such as knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Valid C driver license
  • Solid ethics
