As we navigate life during this pandemic, it comes with no surprise that worry, fear, anxiety, what if and the like is what we see and hear around the world. Not excluding myself in the equation but I strongly see light at the end of the tunnel and that brings hope as we navigate. The main question that has been on my mind for a while now is 'Do I want to see a Better me beyond the pandemic or vice versa?' The most obvious answer is yes but then are we prepared for that better person, company, relationship?
That being said allow me to share with you some tips on preparing that person / company / community as we navigate the pandemic.
Lessons Learnt
As we navigate the pandemic we pick lessons which needs to be addressed and fixed immediately to keep us going but we also have to deep dive on the challenges and work on long term solutions. This can mean change or adjustment on our business models, plans, strategies etc. It is key we learn on all the stumbling block during the challenges and as we fix we set out precautions for the future.
Opportunities
This pandemic like many other challenges it impacts both positively and negatively. We can clearly see how some of the sectors today have been impacted positively like medical supplies and services, ICT, eCommerce sector whilst some have been heavily impacted e.g Tourism & leisure, Aviation, Automotive etc . I would like to challenge you to dig deeper and in the midst of the challenge comes a number of opportunities it being setting out standards which will outsmart your competition in your industry hence creating future prospects. Same applies to individual this can be the time to shine and show case the unique skill or talent which was not a requirement before. So I challenge you to be that spark of light in the midst of the darkness.
Readiness to couple with the Transformation
With no doubt this pandemic has clearly demonstrated to the world Transformation in all spheres of life from an individual to the corporates both government and non governmental institution. With this transformation which has happened rapidly almost overnight comes the question of our readiness. If you asked me where we ready prior to the pandemic I would have confidently say ooh yes we were but now looking at the reality Readiness is an evolving term! This means we are living in high-pace world where we need to transform daily and check on our readiness for tomorrow, today.
As individuals and business leaders from different spheres, it is key we remain relevant even more today than ever before. Lets work on our lessons-learnt diligently, deep dive in the midst of darkness for opportunities which will set the stage for our readiness to soar in the transformed world post the pandemic.
It is such a time we as leaders are to critically think through to move our organisations to the next level needed tomorrow.
