Technician: Automotive
Summary
The Technician: Automotive is responsible for implementing the maintenance plans and policy defined by the Technical Director for vehicle and mobile equipment and ensuring compliance, availability and optimal operation of Vehicles and mobile equipment.
Responsibilities
- Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Execution; Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and inspections Vehicles, tractors and Fire Truck Automotive systems
- Tools and PPE Identification and Availability; Identify tools and PPE required to perform inspection and maintenance for inspections Vehicles, tractors and RFFS make sure it’s available
- Maintenance Execution and Task Compliance; Perform all maintenance inspections, daily log activities and tasks are being done efficiently, accurately and on time as instructed by workshop manager
- Maintenance Reporting and Documentation; Write all mechanical system maintenance report and dispatched to the Mechanical HOD
- Corrective Maintenance Scheduling and Execution; Schedule and perform the corrective action required according to inspection findings and immediate intervetions
- Material and Spare Parts Coordination; Inform workshop manager with materials and spare parts required to perform the repairs work for the equipment and inventory check
- Safety Compliance in Maintenance Activities; Implement all safety requirements for the inspection and maintenance
- Activity Reporting Consistency; Consistency of reporting all activities on timely manners
- Technical Issue Escalation; Immediate escalation of the major technical issues which present risk for airport operations and level of services to the workshop manager
- Task and Inspection Optimization; Propose and modification for the task list and inspection form make it more relevant and efficient
- Internal Communication; Communicate internally on the progress of preventive and corrective maintenance work.
Education and Qualifications
- Vocational education and training Certificate vehicle maintenance studies from Tanzania or Zanzibar
- Additional training in automotive systems, heavy equipment maintenance, or mechanical systems is an added advantage
- Certification or training in vehicle maintenance or heavy equipment maintenance from recognized institutions is an added advantage
- Proficiency in Swahili , English
Requirements
- At least 5-10 years' proven experience in maintenance Fire trucks , Pickup vehicles (Hilux) , tractors is a must
- Experience in airport vehicles, tractors or fire vehicles is an added advantage
