As a Board Member for Tanzania Breweries Plc, you will play a key role in overseeing the strategic direction and overall governance of the company. You will collaborate with fellow board members and senior leadership to ensure the company achieves its goals and remains committed to its mission. You will provide valuable insights and guidance in areas such as business development, operations, marketing, and financial management within the brewing and beverage industry.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Governance & Oversight:
- Ensure the company adheres to legal and ethical standards.
- Approve significant financial decisions, budgets, and major capital expenditures.
- Help maintain a strong corporate culture and values aligned with the mission of the company.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Assist in the creation of short- and long-term strategic goals.
- Participate in identifying and mitigating potential risks and opportunities in the marketplace.
- Actively contribute to discussions about company growth, sustainability, and new market trends (e.g., craft beer, sustainability, and eco-friendly packaging).
- Financial Stewardship:
- Review and approve the company's financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
- Monitor the company’s financial performance and help guide fiscal responsibility.
- Ensure proper funding and capital management for the company’s initiatives.
- Industry Knowledge & Networking:
- Leverage personal industry experience and connections to support the company’s growth.
- Stay informed about trends, innovations, and regulatory issues affecting the brewing industry.
- Support and Mentorship:
- Serve as a mentor and resource for the executive team and other members of the board.
- Committee Participation:
- Serve on board subcommittees
- Attend quarterly and special meetings, contributing actively in discussions.
Education and Qualifications
- Proven experience in senior leadership or board positions in the brewing, beverage, food, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of business strategy, operations, financial management, and governance.
- Passion for the brewing industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and contribute to high-level decision-making.
- Strong network of industry contacts and relationships is a plus.
