Summary

The Embassy of Finland in Dar es Salaam is seeking a dedicated and reliable Maintenance Worker to support the upkeep of the Embassy premises and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work across the Ambassador’s Residence and all buildings within the compound.
• Oversee and coordinate outsourced maintenance and repair service providers.
• Support additional tasks related to the upkeep and daily operations of the Residence premises.
• Maintain general cleanliness and upkeep of the Residence premises, both indoors and outdoors.
• Conduct basic inventory checks and maintain an accurate, up‑to‑date maintenance log.
• Report issues such as water leaks, electrical hazards, or other facility concerns immediately.
• Move, set up, and arrange furniture or equipment for events, meetings, and guest visits.
• Assist with practical arrangements for Embassy events and functions.
• Use standard hand tools and basic power tools.
• Have the capacity for light lifting and outdoor work.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Embassy management.
  
  This position is open to Tanzanians and non-Tanzanians.
  Applicants must have a valid work permit or the right to work in Tanzania.

Education and Qualifications

• Relevant vocational training or education in maintenance, building services, or a related field.

Language skills

• English (Writing & Speaking)
• Kiswahili (Writing & Speaking)

Requirements

• Demonstrated work experience in property maintenance, larger residential compounds, hotels or a similar field.
