Summary

The Head of Data is a prestigious leadership role that revolves around harnessing data to drive business success and increase value for our shareholders. We’re looking for someone with a sharp analytical mind, expert-level experience in data management and analysis, and a strong grasp of business intelligence. This role is about guiding our data team to deliver insights that shape our strategic direction and elevate our standing in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement data analytics strategies to support business objectives and drive shareholder value.
  • Lead and manage a team of data analysts, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality insights and analysis.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data across the entire Tanzanian business, working closely with multiple stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with international shareholders to provide data-driven insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security in all data-related activities.
  • Drive the adoption of advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to enhance data visualization and decision-making processes.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement within the organization.

Education and Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a data analytics leadership role, with a strong background in audit or M&A

Requirements

  • Expert proficiency in Excel and familiarity with other data analytics and business intelligence tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading and developing a team of analysts.
  • Experience working at the Big 4 is an added advantage
