Summary

The Engineering Manager shall be responsible for leading the project and maintenance teams in planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the activities of the Engineering section. The Engineering Manager shall be accountable to ensure that all maintenance and project activities are executed safely and professionally in accordance to site and industry rules and regulations.

The Engineering Manager is responsible for the administrative and technical coordination with various company departments and external stakeholders to ensure that project and maintenance activities are effectively planned, executed, monitored, controlled and closed out in accordance to budget and defined company HSSEQ requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate directly with the relevant departments to coordinate engineering work in the installation.
  • Communicate directly with HSSEQ to ensure effective participation by the engineering team in the implementation of HSSEQ policies and procedures.
  • In collaboration with Depot and Gantry Operations Staff, Lead the planning and implementing installation improvements and expansions.
  • Conduct team performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contribution of the Engineering team.
  • Maintain and update operating and training manuals for the Engineering section.
  • Follow up data in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of the installation equipment. Ensure data is always accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare reports, analyze data, and make engineering recommendations for improving depot and gantry operations and solving technical and problems.
  • Ensure engineering staff are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the engineering activities can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Communicate regularly with all Engineering staff, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication.
  • Track, analyze and improve key engineering management parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM closure rates, downtime, project implementation rates, utility costs, etc.
  • Maintain and adhere to HSSEQ and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure legal requirements and regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times.
  • Assist with work scheduling as needed.
  • Attend all other job related internal and external meetings as assigned by the Head of Department.
  • Prepare budgeting, tracking, and analysis for the Engineering Section.

  • Overseeing management of all engineering projects of the company
  • Managing maintenance of all company's assets
  • Compliance of HSSEQ policies and procedure for all project and maintenance activities
  • Staff management and performance
  • Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (preferable Mechanical or Electrical).
  • Masters in Engineering Management / Project Management.
  • Certified Project Management professional / Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional.
  • Must be a registered professional engineer with the Engineers Registration Board

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years working experience in the petroleum industry, construction or manufacturing on a senior technical supervisory role, incorporating, engineering design, project management and maintenance management.
  • Must be proficient in using CMMS, MS project, AutoCAD and other relevant engineering and administrative software

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate the ability to pay attention to detail and follow-up/correct the work the engineers produce both administratively and on the worksites
  • Ability to Motivate Team Members: Demonstrate the ability to motivate the engineering team by effectively using tools such as having more effective and productive meetings, fostering a sense of community, transparency, frequent communication and providing regular employee recognition
