Summary

The OI and Quality Country Manager will be responsible for Coordinating the location OI , Quality Coordinators and safety representatives, managing the Country Quality Objectives and  Implementing Country Quality.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the location OI , Quality Coordinators and  safety representatives.
  • Managing the Country Quality Objectives and OI Top Page
  • Implementing Country Quality , Global OI and Local regulatory programs to assure compliance
  • Linking the Regional OI and Quality Strategy to the country and site activities assuring alignment
  • Ensure OI and Quality training is aligned with business operations ,OIMS and local regulatory requirements and is conducted at site level
  • Ensure operational implementation of Global OIMS, Quality Standards and local regulatory requirements through use of global assessment tools and auditing/assurance processes
  • Ensure effective integration of acquisitions regarding OI compliance through the mergers and acquisition process
  • Ensure reporting and management of OI related incidents, near misses, hazards and best practices in accordance with group expectations

Specific Responsibilities

  • Identify, plan, recommend and complete OI & Quality programs following the Global OI& Quality strategy and applicable business strategies
  • Align work with Region/ Sub-Regional and Site OI & Quality Coordinators and MD
  • Create and develop a sub regional OI and quality organization to implement the Regional OI and Quality strategy throughout the assigned countries.
  • Develop competency of OI and Quality personnel through best practice sharing and implementation of applicable best practices from internal and external sources
  • Implement and assess the operational status of regional policies and country specific standards to assure compliance
  • Ensure audits are conducted to assess implementation of OI and Quality Programs and legal compliance with country specific standards regarding quality, Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Provide OI and Quality support to sites and functions (e.g. Purchasing) during projects; (e.g. during site expansions, new construction, new equipment purchases, new processes etc.)
  • Ensure timely reporting of OI relevant items including incidents, near misses, hazards and KPIs within the country using Crystal
  • Ensure country implementation of wide OI and Quality activities including Safe Start, Stellar, Safety Month, Quarterly Campaigns, Best Practice Sharing, Rules for Life, Stop Work Authority, BBS etc. and strategic planning
  • Provide Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental technical guidance to businesses and and country personnel to assure compliance with OIMS and Country regulatory requirements at the site level.
  • Assist line management with the implementation of relevant ISO systems such as ISO 17020, ISO17025, ISO 9001.
  • Facilitate management reviews at site and country level .
  • External liason person with accreditation bodies such as CALA, SANAS and KENAS.
  • Additional tasks can be assigned to the job holder to support the overall OI strategy

 

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an QHSE related field
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in QHSE
  • Industrial experience in Quality related activity such as laboratory testing or inspection activity
  • HSE certification preferred

Characteristics

  • Ability to understand and explain technical (QHSE specific) topics for all levels of personnel
  • Ability to understand the Country and site contributions to Regional OI Performance and capability to use existing tools; prioritizing risks and influencing factors
  • Ability to manage a remote team
  • Ability to influence without direct reporting lines
  • Ability to evaluate the accuracy of root cause analysis and the effectiveness of proposed solutions
  • Sufficient knowledge of English to communicate with the Regional OI Manager and Quality Managers, to understand Global OI Communications and business-specific requirements.
  • Ability to conduct computer-based audits such as SLIM audits and facilitate quality improvement to remote sites

Reporting To

  • Reports directly to the Managing Director with a dotted line to the Regional OI Manager, Regional Quality Manager or Sub-Regional OI and Quality Manager.
