Chief Finance Officer (CFO)
Summary
- Responsible for the Bank’s long-term financial performance and growth

Establish strategies that maximize shareholder returns, oversee accounting operations, and produce accurate reports on resource allocations within the business
- Improve or change current practices to increase efficiency

A key and integral member of the Country Management Committee providing analysis, insight, and advice by ensuring timely, accurate, and relevant financial information to support business monitoring and decision-making

Overall responsibility for the Finance and Accounting functions – Regulatory, Management & Statutory Accounts
- The CFO will collaborate with the Board of Directors and the Country Executive Committee to steer financial performance, ensure compliance, and shape the strategic direction
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and manage the overall financial strategy of the bank
- Constantly suggest ideas for improvement and process optimization to drive efficiency
- Oversee and manage the company’s financial accounting and reporting system
- Set targets for finance & accounting personnel and monitor their performance
- Coordinate Training, Coaching, and Professional Development for the team
- Design, Plan, Implement, and monitor internal control operations relevant to the finance and accounting function
- Adhere to Accounting, Tax & Financial Regulations and Guidelines
- Coordinate Compliance with Bank of Tanzania Reporting Regulations
- Prepare periodic reports on product/customer segment performance, regulatory returns, and statutory accounts
- Coordinate Statutory Audits
- Abide by Internal Policies, Procedures, and Standards
- Coordinate compliance with Tax Laws and Regulations
- Manage external stakeholders including Primary and Secondary Regulators
- Serve on the Board as an Executive Director of Finance
- Exercise central responsibility for the bank's management information systems. Ensure full compliance with Laws, Regulations, Policies, Procedures, and standards
- Drive the bank's financial performance as measured by Profitability and Shareholder Returns
- Operate as an effective collaborator on the Country Executive Committee – contributing beyond the Finance function to the overall success of the bank.
- Provide advice to the executive team on operating cost management, Project and investment Decisions, and pricing strategy for the bank’s products & services.
- Leverages digital technology when leading the finance function
- Develops frameworks and policies for all company financial investments.
Education and Qualifications
- Professional Accounting Certification as recognized by NBAA
- Experience in a risk function (Market Risk, Operational Risk) will be an added advantage
Requirements
- Senior Level Banking experience in Finance/ Accounting/Auditing function of not less than 10 years.
