Summary
The Mechanical Fabricator is responsible for performing mechanical fabrication, repair, and modification works on equipment and infrastructure to support maintenance and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Mechanical Fabrication Execution: Perform fabrication of metal components, structures, and parts based on technical drawings and specifications.
Welding and Cutting Operations: Carry out welding, cutting, and shaping of materials using appropriate tools and techniques.
Repair and Modification Works: Repair damaged equipment and fabricate replacement parts to restore functionality.
Workshop Equipment Operation: Operate fabrication tools and workshop machinery such as welding machines, grinders, cutters, and drills.
Material Preparation and Handling: Prepare materials for fabrication work, including measuring, cutting, and shaping.
Work Order Execution: Execute assigned fabrication and repair tasks as per instructions and maintenance requirements.
Quality and Accuracy of Work: Ensure fabricated components meet required specifications and quality standards.
Safety Compliance in Workshop Activities: Follow safety procedures and use PPE during fabrication and workshop operations.
Basic Maintenance of Tools and Equipment: Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report defects.
Support to Maintenance Teams: Provide fabrication support to mechanical and maintenance teams for equipment repairs and installations.
Education and Qualifications
Education: Vocational training or certificate in Mechanical Fabrication, Welding, or related fielD.
Professional Certifications: Certification in welding or fabrication techniques is an added advantage
Requirements
Experience in industrial, automotive, or workshop environments is an added advantage
