Summary

We are seeking a Legal Manager who  will play a crucial role in our legal team, overseeing the review and drafting of commercial contracts, including but not limited to SLAs with banks, switches, micro-finance banks, OFIs, etc. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in the banking or fintech industry, particularly in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the review and drafting of commercial contracts, including but not limited to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Lead the review and drafting of SLAs with banks, switches, micro-finance banks, OFIs, and related institutions.

  • Provide legal support within the banking and fintech environment, with a strong focus on commercial contracting.

  • Ensure compliance with commercial, corporate, and financial laws in all contractual arrangements.

  • Support and uphold corporate governance practices within the organization.

  • Conduct legal risk assessment and management through detailed contract review.

  • Handle multiple legal matters independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Apply strong negotiation and communication skills in contractual discussions.

  • Perform legal research and prepare legal documentation using standard office tools.

 

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • A Master’s degree in Business & Commercial Law and other relevant certifications will be advantageous.

Requirements

  • At least ten (7) years of experience, with at least three (3) years in a legal managerial role in the banking and fin-tech industry, particularly in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts.
  • Core experience in reviewing and drafting SLAs with banks, switches, micro-finance banks, OFIs, etc.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, corporate, and financial laws.
  • Core experience in corporate governance practices.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial, corporate, and financial laws.
  • Excellence in negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic approach to risk assessment and management.
  • Proficiency in legal research and Microsoft Office Suite.
