Summary
The Head: Airside Operations is responsible for leading airside operations strategy, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient management of apron, runway, and taxiway operations in alignment with aviation regulations and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
Airside Operations Strategy and Leadership: Define and lead airside operations strategy to ensure safety, efficiency, and capacity optimization.
Airside Safety and Compliance Oversight: Ensure full compliance with aviation regulations, aerodrome certification requirements, and safety standards.
Apron, Runway, and Taxiway Oversight: Provide oversight of all airside operational areas, ensuring safe aircraft movement and operational efficiency.
Operational Readiness and Capacity Management: Ensure airside readiness to support flight schedules, traffic growth, and peak operations.
Airside Risk Management and Safety Assurance: Identify operational risks and ensure mitigation strategies are implemented to maintain safety performance.
Coordination with Air Traffic Control and Stakeholders: Oversee coordination with air traffic control, airlines, ground handlers, and regulators.
Incident and Disruption Oversight: Provide leadership and oversight during major airside incidents and disruptions.
Coordination with Engineering and Maintenance: Ensure airside infrastructure is maintained and operational through coordination with technical teams.
Performance Monitoring and KPI Management: Define and monitor KPIs related to safety, efficiency, and operational performance.
Leadership and Team Oversight: Lead airside operations teams and ensure effective structure, performance, and accountability.
Continuous Improvement and Operational Efficiency: Drive improvements in airside operations, safety practices, and operational processes.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Engineering, or related field
- Master’s degree in Aviation Management or related field is an added advantage
