Summary

The FTTH Regional Project Manager is the primary point of accountability for the successful delivery of assigned fiber-to-the-home projects, from planning through execution and handover. The role is responsible for coordinating resources, teams, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the agreed scope and quality standards. The position ensures that clients receive timely, professional, and solution-oriented project management while maintaining strong oversight of site progress, cost control, and safety compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The FTTH Regional Project Manager works closely with Project Controls, Procurement, HR/Admin, Contractors, and Client-facing teams to coordinate seamless project delivery across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Delivery: Develop a complete understanding of each project and plan execution accordingly, ensuring delivery aligns with agreed scope, features, and timelines.
  • Customer Satisfaction & Delivery Management: Ensure clients receive timely, accurate, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery through proactive program and contract management.
  • Delivery Project Management: Monitor project progress, identify risks early, and escalate issues promptly to protect delivery success and customer satisfaction.
  • Resource Management: Forecast workload and resource requirements, allocate resources effectively, and manage team performance throughout the project.
  • Logistics Coordination: Confirm equipment readiness against the project plan and coordinate communication across all involved departments.
  • Problem Resolution: Address HR, technical, and customer issues as they arise, liaising with all stakeholders — customers, internal departments, and sub-contractors — to resolve conflicts.
  • Documentation & Process Improvement: Produce all documentation required for project handover and contribute input on process improvements.
  • Reporting: Track, verify, and update project reports, keeping the team and client informed on progress and action plans.
  • Site Oversight: Monitor construction progress on-site to ensure major milestones are met.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure safe, incident-free execution of all assigned projects in line with HSE regulations.
  • Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Manage day-to-day client interaction, set and manage expectations, and maintain strong working relationships across a multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Capture and share lessons learned to improve future project execution.

Education and Qualifications

  • Telecommunications or Engineering degree; technical/civil diploma also considered
  • Project Management certification required; PMP preferred

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in FTTH within the telecoms industry, ideally with Huawei
  • Experience managing projects at an international or cross-cultural level
  • Proven track record in leadership, people management, and mentoring

 

Characteristics

  • Strong knowledge of ODN networks and general telecom infrastructure
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and MS Project
  • Demonstrated skills in risk management, change management, and strategic planning
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities, including with local government
  • Ability to manage remote, cross-cultural teams effectively
  • Good planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities
