Summary

The Deputy Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the finance function, developing financial well-being of the organization, providing financial projections, directing staff and managing relationships with key stakeholders.

The individual will report to the Group CFO as well as to the partners at the local Firm level in the day to day running of the business and for strategic direction.

Responsibilities

  •  Deal with complex modelling and analysis, as well as demonstrate sound knowledge of financial systems and procedures;
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on productivity of the fee-earners in line with the metrics and KPIs determined by the Firm. Such KPIs include but not limited to utilisation, time realisation among others;
  • Prepare budgets that are aligned to the strategic plan of the business;
  • Ensure effective credit control through a structured system of debtors follow up;
  • Demonstrate awareness of common financial practices that are in line with all statutory legislation and regulations in Tanzania
  • Providing and interpreting financial information to the stakeholders;
  • Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines;
  • Preparing, monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends;
  • Execution of strategic and long-term business plans including the annual budget plans.
  • Implementation of financial management mechanisms and internal control mechanisms that minimise financial risk.
  • Conducting cost reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Managing financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
  • Liaising with auditors to ensure annual statutory audits are carried out.
  • Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the Revenue Authority.
  • Day to day management of the tax and treasury function of the business.
  • Analysing and presenting proposals on how to fund the working capital requirements of the business.
  • Supervising staff
  • Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation and advising the business accordingly.

 

Education and Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is a mandatory requirement in any of the following areas, accountancy and finance, business, economics, management, mathematics, statistics or a related field

  • CPA, ACCA or CA qualified with at least 3-4 years post qualification experience.

Requirements

  • Strong accounting and finance skills with experience from a reputable organisation, preferably the professional services sector.
  • Excellent understanding of the Tanzanian Tax and Regulatory environment.
  • Ability to produce draft final accounts and support the annual external audits leading to the production of the Audited Financial Statements for all the local entities.
  • Experience in Management Reporting both routine and Adhoc
  • Experience in the preparation of a budget plan for both short and long-term plan.
  • Commercial and business awareness.
