Deputy Chief Operating Officer
Summary
The Deputy Chief Operating Officer is responsible for supporting the Chief Operating Officer in driving operational performance, ensuring coordination, execution, and continuity of airport operations in line with safety, regulatory, and performance requirements.
Responsibilities
Support to Operational Leadership and Execution: Support the Chief Operating Officer in overseeing all operations.
Operational Coordination and Integration: Ensure coordination between operational departments to maintain seamless and efficient airport operations.
Operational Performance Monitoring and Follow-Up: Monitor operational KPIs and ensure implementation of corrective actions and performance improvement initiatives.
Support to Disruption and Crisis Management: Assist in managing operational disruptions and emergencies, ensuring coordinated response and recovery actions.
Regulatory Compliance Support: Ensure operational activities comply with all regulations, certification requirements, and internal procedures.
Operational Reporting and Governance Support: Support preparation of operational reports, dashboards, and governance forums for executive review.
Delegated Authority Execution: Act on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer when required, ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making.
Continuous Improvement and Operational Efficiency: Identify operational gaps and support implementation of improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, or related field is an added advantage
Requirements
12–15 years’ experience in infrastructure operations, including senior management roles
