Assistant Mining Engineer
Summary
This role requires a sharp individual with attention to detail to collaborates in geological exploration and mining activities.
Responsibilities
- To Conducts research to determine the location and methods of extracting minerals:
- To Conducts or collaborates in geological exploration, and reviews maps and drilling logs to determine location, size, accessibility, and the estimated value of mineral deposits.
- To determines methods to extract minerals, considering factors such as safety, operational costs, deposit characteristics, overburden depth, and surrounding strata.
- May devise methods and locations to store and replace excavated soil to reclaim mine sites.
- To analyze labor requirements, equipment needs, and operational costs
- To apply knowledge of mining engineering to solve problems concerned with the environment
- To assist the miners with maintaining equipment, with laying pipes, cables, and tunnels, and with removing waste
- Overseeing staff activities, either in one site section or throughout an entire mine
- Ensuring the safety of mining
- Establishing extraction systems.
- Overseeing the health and safety of the site.
- Training and supervising staff
- Analyzing data and keeping records
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering or relevant field
