Accountant
Summary
- To support the organization’s Financial Objectives by contributing towards the processing and reporting activities across the business.
- To provide accounting, analytical and reporting support within the Finance department, ensuring that all financial data are accurately processed into the accounting system, and that all accounting processes are aligned with internal company policies and procedures and the Lottery License Agreement.
Responsibilities
- Generally Accepted Accounting Practices
- International Financial Reporting Standards
- Reporting requirements of the Tanzania Revenue Authority, other government agencies and regulatory institutions
- Sage Pastel Partner
- Knowledge of the application of data
- processing and terminology as it applies to maintaining financial control and accounting records
- Knowledge of techniques commonly used in locating errors in accounting records
- Proficiency in Advanced MS Excel
- Time management skills
- Analytical thinking
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to collect and organize accounting data, interpret its significance, and prepare accurate financial reports
- Ability to present accounting data in a clear and understandable manner to both technical and non-technical users
- Ability to solve difficult and complex accounting and related financial problems
- Ability to analyse and recommend improvements in accounting
- Good interpersonal communication and supervision skills
- High proficiency in Business English
Education and Qualifications
NQF Level
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option)
Qualification Required
- University Degree in Accounting or Related Fields.
Requirements
Experience Required:
- 3+ years of experience in a financial environment
Experience Preferred:
- 3 years + experience in the accounting field and in the gaming or lottery industry
